Boswell's Rock' in Rivergate Bike Night - September 12th

Come hang out with us at Boswell's this month as we host 3 Friday Bike Nights. We will have the best hot off the Grill and Cold Brews to go with it! In addition live music and a special sale during the event. This is also a good time to see the new 2009 bikes. Bike Nights are a cool way to hang out with other riders, so saddle up bring a friend and head on down.

Senior Ride - Saturday, September 20th

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for our 3rd Annual Senior Ride. We need a total of about 75 Bikers to give Senior Citizens a Ride of Their Lifetime. The ride will leave The Knowles Senior Center at 174 Rains Ave. on Saturday, September 20, at 10:30a.m. and will be approximately 15-20 miles long. We will need to have all of our Volunteer Bikers at the Center by 10.15 a.m. We will line Up at Boswell’s Rivergate at 9:00 a.m. for the ride to the center. The Knowles Center will provide lunch for the Bikers and the Seniors as well as the Volunteers.

Fall Ride to Stone Mountain, Georgia - Friday, September 26th

We will be leaving Boswells Rivergate store at 8:00 am on Friday, September 26th for our Fall Ride to Stone Mountain, Georgia
and returning on Sunday, September 28th. Doug and Carolyn Johnson have been working hard on planning this trip for us. They have reserved a block of Twenty Two rooms at the TownePlace Suites Norcross. The rooms include 20 Studio/One Bedroom at $ 59.00 and 2 Two bedrooms at $99.00 plus tax. We have until September 5th, to make reservations. The rooms that have not been reserved by then will be dropped from the block.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Rooms guaranteed until arrival date.
Individuals responsible for their own charges upon arrival.
One nights room and tax will be billed to any individuals No Show.
Handicap accessible rooms are included in block if needed.

Dinner Rides

Our dinner rides begin on the first Tuesday in April. The dinner rides are held every Tuesday Night, Rain or Shine. We meet at Boswells Rivergate and ride from there at 6:30 p.m. to a different restaurant each week. If you are new to the group or have never attended a dinner ride, you are missing a real treat. The size of the group changes from week to week but, we always have a good crowd. Each week a different person leads the ride and we take the most scenic route available. I can't stress enough how much fun these rides are. It is also a great way to get to know others within the group because it is a smaller group than the big ride events on the weekend. Remember, if it rains, come on anyway and we will head out in cars. Plan to attend a dinner ride this year and I promise you won't be disappointed!!!

New Member rides

One new event that we are going to do a few times this year is a New Member ride. The first one of these is going to be Saturday April the 5th. This ride will leave the Rivergate shop at 10:00 a.m., and Bill Reidy has volunteered to lead these events for us. This ride will give some new members and riders a chance to see how we ride in a group, hand signals and etc. But we encourage all members to attend. It will give us a chance as members, old and new, to learn more about each other and build new friendships.

We would like to encourage all members to sign up on the Rivergate website message board. The message board is a great way for us to get information out to our members quickly and efficiently. So get on the website often, check out the message board, the calendar and all of the other options the site gives you. If you have questions contact any of the officers or the webmaster they will be glad to answer them.

Chapter Charity —Homesafe

The Charity our chapter represents is HomeSafe, Inc. of Sumner, Wilson and Robertson Counties. They provide a safe shelter for battered women and children. Through the help of organizations such as ours, they are able to keep these women and children safe from their abusers as well as help them to obtain the training needed to secure employment and eventually provide for their families.
